At the bottom of the page you will find a site-wide audio player, and it offers 15 songs that will just continue to play while you surf my site. Just be sure to pause the player if you wish to listen to songs on any other pages here in the site.
HEY, I was just awarded Rising Star of 2009 by Gigmasters! Check it out on my Gigmasters page.
I am a seasoned, professional singer and guitarist (acoustic and electric -- I also play ukulele, harmonica/blues harp, percussion and a little piano and I'm an expert whistler.) I like to tell people I play everything from "Victorian to Punk"... this is true! I perform ALL TYPES of music and love to entertain pretty much anywhere, especially WEDDINGS, COFFEEHOUSES, CAFES, ART EXHIBITS and WINE TASTINGS/DINNERS, RESTAURANTS, CORPORATE EVENTS, PRIVATE PARTIES, FESTIVALS, TEAHOUSES, ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES. I have been entertaining part-time since the late 1980's, but pretty much full-time since 2005.
I am now offering another side of my music when desired or appropriate for the gig: electric guitar with effects pedal...lots of fun rock and roll music from Classic and Psychedelic Rock to New Wave and Punk (think Ramones, The Clash, Patti Smith) and Blues with blues harp. Consider it "Party Music for Frequent Drinkers." Just making sure I have all the bases covered musically, and I just found out it's a lot of fun to wail on an electric guitar.

So, more about me:
I am blessed with a 3 1/2 octave, clear voice -- fans compare my vocals to Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Patti Griffin and Jane Siberry -- but I can sing in ANY style (rock/punk, raucous blues, smooth jazz, standards, folk, twangy country). I have just relocated to the Wilmington, NC area, and I'm really enjoying the music scene and THRILLED to become an integral part of it.
I have been influenced and inspired by all genres of music. I've been playing and singing most of my life. I like to watch the reaction on people's faces when I tell them "I play everything from Victorian to Punk" (this is true, by the way). I perform music from the 1880's to 1920's, classic standards from the 30's and 40's, popular music of the 50's and 60's, traditional and eclectic folk from the 60's and 70's, finger pick and 12 bar blues, classic rock, classic country, Christmas music, love songs, wedding standards and, of course, my own original compositions. I offer an eclectic selection of music, and I'm always learning new songs for each event.
My passion and unique specialty is performing Post-romantic (Victorian) era Parlour Music (1880-1915). Sometimes I take the old and make it anew, while keeping the integrity of the original piece. (Listen to Fairy Visions, Morning in the Orchard, Dreamy Kid, The Brook, and The Silent Moon is Beaming on my music page.) Or, for special events, I can perform it as originally composed. The music is lovely, lyrical and reflective of the Age of Enlightenment.
My first and very artistic CD, COSMIC SUMMER SOJOURN (which you can purchase right here on this site), is my debut CD. This timeless music has been hailed as "beautiful", "serenely enchanting", "soothing and sensual", "magical", "mesmerizing" and "haunting". I like to think of it as "Maxfield Parrish for the ears." Or think Judy Collins meets Incredible String Band with Nick Drake floating around in the background.)
I am slowly working on a second CD, MY BLUE SKIN (I swear I will be making progress soon). It will feature more mainstream style music -- a few ballads (one jazzy), some different instruments (ukulele, and harmonica along with the guitar). I will arrange and produce the CD, recording all instruments in the quiet of my home recording studio. For now, you can hear two songs, Why Don't I Know You? on my music page (be sure to read the story about the song) and The Last Full Measure of Devotion, an original compostion created for and featured in a documentary about agricultural preservation in Adams County, Pennsylvania. (My song Gliding Along Lightly was also featured in the film.)
I am happy to report I was just awarded Finalist (third prize) for my song, Cosmic Summer Sojourn, and Honorable Mention for Gliding Along Lightly from the Songwriter's Association of Washington 2009 International Songwriting Contest. My songs were chosen from among 700 different artists entries. The first time I have entered a songwriting contest, so I am thrilled to be among the winners!
Finally, I have partnered with 128 South Events to bring Listening Room Concerts to Wilmington. Check out the website www.concertat128south.com for the schedule of great shows.
